Mural made for the Women's Rights Center in Poznan – Poland
In this project, we focused primarily on elements such as femininity, strength, friendship, and sisterhood. We would like the mural to be an inspiration and motivation, and at the same time pay homage to women who go through life's tragedies and overcome the obstacles of everyday life. We wanted to show that women should support each other, build healthy relationships, friendships, and bonds, to support each other, because then we are at our strongest. Unfortunately, girls are less likely to be taught "team building" from an early age. We are less often taught independence, courage, self-confidence, and the ability to fight to express one's own opinion are not affirmed enough. Our project is to show that the most important thing for us is solidarity and the already mentioned sisterhood above all differences such as nationality, ethnic origin, appearance, skin color, or life experiences.
At the same time, we wanted to remove the taboo from female body. We wanted to show it as strong, proud, and free. We emphasized feminine features to fight the stereotype that the female anatomy is something shameful and exclusively sexual, which should be covered. We hope that, apart from its aesthetic value, the mural will also become an inspiration for those around it.
